Byron Bird Buddies (BBB) is a Special Interest Group of Brunswick Valley Landcare Inc.
Special Interest Groups – Brunswick Valley Landcare
A special interest group or locality group within Brunswick Valley Landcare is a focused team of volunteers who share a passion for a particular aspect of caring for Country — whether that’s wildlife monitoring, coastal dune protection, native plant propagation, regenerative gardening, or culturally informed land stewardship.
Each group has its own coordinator, who guides the group’s direction, supports volunteers, and acts as the link between the group and Brunswick Valley Landcare. Coordinators help shape activities, maintain momentum, and ensure the group’s work contributes meaningfully to broader Landcare goals. The BBB coordinator also provides an annual report of activities at the BVL AGM.
How to join
Community members can join a special interest group by contacting Brunswick Valley Landcare or the group coordinator directly. You can also join online via the BVL website: https://brunswickvalleylandcare.org.au/get-involved/become-a-member/ Simply fill out the membership form. Individual members can choose either an annual membership or a one‑off life membership. After applying for membership, you are advised to contact the coordinator of the group you are interested in.
New volunteers are welcomed at any skill level — curiosity and a willingness to learn are all you need.
