What To Bring – Always wear covered shoes and bring water, hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. Except for presentation days always bring something to eat for morning or afternoon tea and lunch if it’s over the lunch period.

February, Wednesday 18th: Vallances Road – 08.00 -13.30
Monitoring for the Byron Shire Council Report –
The land at Vallances Road is part of the Byron Shire Councils Mullumbimby Sewage Treatment Plant. The site consists of variety of mainly riparian vegetation along the banks of the Brunswick River with some open paddocks and a billabong.
How to Get There -Vallances Road is off Coolamon Scenic Drive, between Mullumbimby and Ocean Shores –approx 6-7kms north from Mullumbimby or 10kms west of Ocean Shores from the Tweed Valley Way Orana Road roundabout. Drive to the end of the sealed road and meet at the gate. Contact No if late – 0428864378

February – Sunday 22nd Byron Wetlands -17.30am – 20.00
Evening In The Wetlands –
The evening will consist of a short guided walk and viewing from the birdhide followed by a power-point presentation and discussion on birds of the wetlands. You bring your own drinks and a plate of nibbles to share and BBB will provide tea, coffee and juice. Anyone is welcome but a space is limited to about 30 people so please book birdbuddygroup@yahoo.com.au
How to Get There – Take the exit off Ewingsdale Rd at the BP station into Bayshore Drive, follow the road past IGA and then just after IGA but before the railway tracks left into an unnamed road – drive to the end wait at the gates if locked; if opened drive in, & take the first left turn and park in the parking area about 200mts in and walk to the Interpretative Centre – a small building west of the carpark and sign on.
