Areas in and around Byron Bay and all along the New South Wales far north coast, are under enormous and sustained pressure from growing populations and development. For this reason, one of the main roles of Byron Bird Buddies is to provide programs and services for Monitoring, Conservation and Education on the relationship between the various Cape Byron Marine Park coastal environments and the shorebirds and waterbirds which inhabit these places.
